The Craft of Zentangle: Lavender Sachets

Supplies:

  • Freezer Paper
  • Muslin, washed, dried and ironed
  • Pentel Gel Roller For Fabric or other fine point fabric marker
  • lavender
  • batting (optional)
  • thread

Tools:

  • Freezer Paper
  • Sewing machine (unless you prefer hand-sewing)
  • Hand-sewing needles for intricate details(optional)

Technique:

  1. Cut muslin to a manageable size. I cut mine 8×10.
  2. Iron muslin to freezer paper with the shiny side of the freezer paper facing towards the fabric. This will make it much easier to draw on and handle.
  3. If you want your image to have a border, then place a tile on your muslin and trace the edges very lightly with a pencil. It will not be able to be erased, so keep that in mind.
  4. If you want a string, then also draw very lightly with a pencil. It will not be able to be erased, but usually it disappears in the tangle.
  5. Draw your favorite Zentangle patterns.
  6. Repeat for the other piece of muslin if you’d like.
  7. Remove from freezer paper and right sides facing together, sew on 3 sides, leaving one open.
  8. Fill with lavender.
  9. Sew the last side closed
  10. Using the square template, trim the muslin if necessary.

options:

  • Color with with fabric markers.
