Host a Zentangle-Inspired Crafting Party

If you need to plan a unique celebration or just want to get crafty with friends consider a Zentangle-Inspired Party. Zentangle is a fun and relaxing drawing method that traditionally uses the colors black, white and gray. You can incorporate these colors into your party as well as give your guests an great experience.

Invitations

If you already tangle,  create a small simple tile with your favorite tangles and incorporate that into your invitations.  Bijou tiles are the perfect size to send as an invite to the party. If you need an easier option, any black and white invitation or an evite will work just great.

Decorating

Choosing a party theme based on two or three colors makes planning and decorating an easy task. Party supply stores have a wide range of monochromatic supplies that you can combine into the Zentangle color scheme. Black, white and gray are elegant colors when blended together that also complement any house decor.

Dress

For this party, guests can be asked to choose their favorite of the three colors, and dress appropriately. More formal parties can ask for dresses or shirts and ties, while more casual parties can just ask guests to include the colors into their ensemble.

Food

Even with your menu, you can include the Zentangle color theme. You can choose some black or white side dishes to complement your main meal or cook only foods that are completely those colors. White foods might include mashed potatoes, white beans, cauliflower, hummus while black foods could be wild rice, black beans or olives. Any white or dark chocolate would work well for your trichromatic dinner table.

Entertainment

Book a Zentangle class for your party. If you have one in your area, contact a Certified Zentangle Teacher to plan an event. Some CZTs, like me, are willing to travel small distances, so be sure to ask if your event space is in their travel zone. You can go the traditional method and learn Beginning Zentangle or your class could be project-based, like cards, holiday ornaments or even DIY coffee mugs.

If you are forgoing in-person, classes, private virtual classes on Zoom are available from me. Just email me at dawn@onceuponatangle.com to set up a time to discuss it. It’s a great option to create with friends who may be unable to attend an in-person party.

With some planning, your Zentangle party will be a hit. Whether you want to inspire your guests, have a unique get-together or spend a crafty night with friends, a Zentangle Inspired Party is a great way to do that.
